Seasonal opportunity

Jan Parker Cookery is hiring for temporary work during the Farmer’s Market Season.  We have a booth at the Proctor and Broadway Farmers Market and have participated in the La Paloma Markets, Tacoma and Gig Harbor Night Markets and other great vending events in Tacoma/Seattle.  Our food is fresh and distinct Filipino food. Our mission is to support local businesses in Tacoma by using their products. We enjoy being involved in the community.    

 

Jan Parker Cookery celebrated 2 years of being in business and has gained a loyal following.  The business is mobile and we work 100% outdoors; so we have mastered being flexible and staying organized.  Our food is carefully thought out and is presented with detail, not to mention heavily seasonal and reliant on what our urban farmer has on hand.   We value satisfying our customers and building relationships.  Our business really kicks into high gear during the summer, but we still have fun. We look forward to hearing from you.

LEAD COOK

As a lead cook, you will be working closely with Chef Jan.  The seasonal Lead Cook will help in setting up and breaking down with the assistance of the vending assistant. The main responsibility of the lead cook is to operate the booth independently and hold the standard of regulating food cleanliness and sanitation.  Previous line cook experience and an adaptable skillset are recommended. 


Hourly Wage: $16.00 per hours + tips

Proctor Farmer's Market Every Saturday: 8:00 AM-2:00 PM

Tacoma Night Market Every 3rd & 4th Saturday: 3:00 PM-9:30 PM

Broadway Farmer's Market Every Thursday: Tentative Start April  2020 8:00 AM-2:00 PM

Vending assistant

As a Vending Assistant, you will be working closely with the Lead Cook.  The seasonal vending assistant will help in setting up and breaking down with the assistance of the Lead Cook. The main responsibility of the vending assistant is to take orders, describe menu items to our guests and make them feel welcome.  May include light food serving duties such as plating cold & hot items. Lastly, telling people about future events for Jan Parker Cookery. Previous cashier and customer service and an adaptable skillset is recommended

Hourly Wage: $13.50 per hour + tips

Proctor Farmer's Market Every Saturday: 8:00 AM-2:00 PM

Tacoma Night Market Every 3rd & 4th Saturday: 3:00 PM-9:30 PM

Broadway Farmer’s Market Every Thursday Tentative Start: April 8:00 AM-2:00 PM
